Feeling Good
“I believe all children could feel good about themselves. Self-esteem is the single most important factor in having a successful life.
The stress of everyday life, including stress at school and stress within families and in peer relationships, can cause a child to “bottle up” emotions and feel unable to cope. Stress keeps children (and adults too) from sleeping peacefully. Bedtime is a good time to boost a child’s self-esteem and reduce stress. When the child is tired from the activities of the day, it’s a good time for parents to encourage communication of feelings and to suggest strategies for reframing a child’s thinking.”
