Why are Joyful Stories for Kids in different formats?

Both print and audio can address very different needs as well as complement different things.

Why are Joyful Stories for Kids in audio format?

Joyful Stories for Kids are effective in audio format because the absence of visual material requires the child to participate by imagining the details of how each character looks and the way each overcomes adversity. The more a child takes part on an imaginative level, the greater the impression the positive messages make on his or her mind. In addition, using the audio format can enable a child to learn independently of a parent, thus being able to fully participate in preparing for a restful night’s sleep, thus leaning a way to relax.

Furthermore, the questions asked by the voice are designed for a child’s response. Again, this assures continued involvement and impresses positive messages upon the child’s mind - messages such as, “I trust myself” and “I believe in myself.”

Following the story is a brief, affirming “chat” that communicates self-assuring messages such as, “Doing things differently is okay,” “Making mistakes is just part of being a child” and “All people make mistakes sometimes.”

Why listen at bedtime?

Bedtime can be a very difficult time for children and parents. At bedtime, worries of the day can creep into a child’s mind and disturb his or her ability to sleep. Joyful Stories for Kids help focus a child’s mind on positive thoughts such as, “Who was nice to you today?”

Parents complain about the difficulty of getting children to go to bed, to stay in bed, and to sleep through the night. When Joyful Stories for Kids becomes a part of the bedtime routine, a child stays in bed to listen and easily drifts off to sleep.

Why were Joyful Stories in book format and how do they complement each other?

Books have a roles that audio can not replace:

Children are exposed new vocabulary through books.

Children are exposed to new words through reading. Reading time is a crucial part of a child’s development. It helps them to learn new words and develop their reading skills. Reading also enhances their vocabulary and makes them smarter in the long run. Books are also helpful for children who are struggling with various literacy challenges, such as dyslexia, which often develop in late childhood.

Children's brains grow tremendously as they learn new things through reading

Reading is a crucial and essential part of a child's development, and it is important that children are exposed to books at an early age. Reading has a scientifically proven effect on maintaining one's attention span, which teaches children how to regulate their thoughts and emotions at a young age.

A study in the Journal of Pediatrics found that reading to infants and toddlers can help them develop their language skills. The study also found that children who were read to more often were better able to communicate verbally with adults, had larger vocabularies, and could read better than those who were not read to as often.

Reading also helps children develop empathy for others, which is helpful as they grow up and want to be good people in society.

It boosts their confidence in themselves and their ability to read

Reading is a very important skill to have. It is one of the main ways that people learn. People read to find out information, to be entertained, and to express themselves. There are many benefits of reading: it boosts one's confidence in themselves and their ability to read, it improves vocabulary skills, it improves memory skills, it helps one be more creative thinkers and better listeners, etc.

Kids' imaginations become more vivid as they read a book over and over again.

Reading a story over and over again may seem like a waste of time. But it is actually an important part of the child's development. When children read a book for the second time, their imagination becomes more vivid and they are able to understand the story more deeply. Repeated reading can help kids develop their critical thinking skills, too. They will be able to see how different parts of the book connect with each other and make inferences about what will happen next in the story. Books are a gateway to a world of imagination and wonder. A story takes you on an adventure, but it’s your imagination that helps make the experience so special. The imagination of children is stimulated as they read books. They are able to visualize what is happening in their minds and create a world for themselves.

Reading will help maintain your child's interest in going to bed so he/she can fall asleep peacefully.

Reading to your child before bedtime will help them fall asleep peacefully. Reading at bedtime sets a routine that signals to your child that going to sleep is a time for his/her body and brain to rest so he/she can have healthy sleep. Spending an evening together bonding with your child and reading stories is important, but it also helps establish those important routines that come just before bedtime. They have shown a healthy routine to improve sleep quality, mood, and well-being. Make a nighttime ritual of reading together with your son/daughter!
